Rozha was the first dog I haven’t consciously euthanized while they were unwell. And with my recent shadow work around the shame I carried for euthanizing my last 2- this was my opportunity to clear the karma. To choose peaceful passing at home and not in a sterile room at the hands of someone else. I would never unalive my child- or my family member- to me my animals are no different. It’s criminal how that has been normalized. I laid by her side until her last breath and until her heart rested. It was 11:33am on Thursday the 27th of August 2026. Her 2 mamas were with her. The 2 women she has loved the longest. We stayed and held space for her until she transcended her body naturally. Rozha wasn’t just another Seva rescue- she was the OG Seva rescue- our first guest when Seva first opened by the sea in 2021. She arrived to the property 3 days prior to me and was horribly abused, malnourished and without the babies she had recently birthed. She escaped her vortex of trauma. She was desperate for love. She was there to heal and pass that energy to the hundreds of guests who have come through Seva. She was charming and everyone who needed love- she provided it. She taught Zuna how to be free & wild and Zuna taught her how to trust and receive love. Zuna is being transferred to a 24 hour care facility 5 hours from me in Cartago. My heart hurts to have her alone in a hospital environment but with the rapid decline in Rozhas case, I must do what we it takes to care for Zuna. She stayed overnight last night at the new vet and will be transferred today. Last night she ate well, she attempted to rise onto her hind legs but without success fully. Her bloodwork and ultrasound didn’t show any abnormalities except a very full bladder which makes me feel like her enlarged abdomen may have been to her abnormal urination. She definitely showed relief when they expressed her bladder and she fully pooped. I want answers to learn and grow from. There’s a parasite called Neospra that they will test for at the new hospital. Also do CT scans. Share your Rozha story with me #donteuthanizeforconvenience #donteuthanizedogs #neurologicalsymptomsindogs
