I look back to when I was dating and am honestly ashamed at how much of a "pick me" I was. I see it clear as day now. Surely didn't then. I just wanted to be loved so badly. Happily divorced now and never EVER letting a man in my space again. I'm so happy I finally found my self worth.

this is the one thing i struggle with. i am single, i have built a career, bought a house, i finance myself, I'm chair of the governing body of the sport i do, sit on charity boards, have two wonderful dogs. i'm successful. but there is a bit of me that still struggles to see my worth because no man has ever wanted to marry me or have a serious relationship with me. that struggle doesn't change my behaviour, but i do feel that nothing i ever do is good enough

Thank you I am having a hard time. I am 36 but an old 36 if that makes sense. A close friend from high school just married a doctor and my sister just announced an engagement. I am very single. Everything is a struggle and it makes it worse.

relationship with men can be extremely hard, this is correct- the value lying in being with a man in marriage, dating or relationship etc. is not true. the truth is it doesn’t make a lick of difference. a lady makes her own value, fulfillment & joy in her own life. that’s the truth. as long as your happy & living peacefully ignore the pressure

My father told me to remain single and make money for myself. He told me to not depend on a man. I have been doing this for years. I am happy being single because I see other women successful or not are exhausted from being married or in a relationship.

Fortunately, my parents and grandparents (who were a big part of our childhood) never made love, marriage, or relationships the #1 priority in our lives. They always taught us that we need to study, take care of ourselves, and have our own money, lives, and responsibilities. My grandma didn’t even believe in friendships. She always taught us that we only need to love ourselves, and if someone good comes into our lives, it’s just a plus that we can cherish. But if something doesn’t feel right, we should turn our backs and walk away from any situation that isn’t bringing us happiness.
