Those ambulances are also likely 10+ years old AND the EMTs and paramedics make very little above minimum wage. I asked my paramedic fiancé where all the money goes. He said the majority is very expensive medicine they have to keep on board but rarely use and corporate profits (of course)!

I had appendicitis 2 years ago that turned into a hernia. It costs 30k to fix a 4cm hole 😭

We stopped paying insurance and pay out of pocket now. They cut our bills in half straight off the bat now. The money we were putting towards insurance now goes into a separate bank account to pay for our medical bills
