Many years ago I worked at a vet. A couple that was divorcing came in with their dog. Told us we can't agree who should get him so we're going to put him down. I tacked on $100 fee if they wanted to stay in the room which I knew they wouldn't do. I then got that beautiful 2 yr old pup a wonderful home with a family that just lost their dog to cancer. Judge me if you want but I'd do it again.

We had friends get divorced and the wife fought for the dogs in the divorce. A year later she’s asking to rehome him because she’s pregnant. I took the dog and gave it back to the ex husband. They’d gotten it on their honeymoon and he was devastated. Lived out the rest of his life happy with his dad… but she wouldln’t have made that happen

So so glad he had a happy reunion. My dad’s ex wife took his Greyhound turned pet that he loved so much “Appleridge Andy” and had him put down when my dad was at work. Talk about evil. My dad was devastated. He carried Andy’s dog tag in his pocket till the day my dad passed. So so glad this guy got his little family member back.💕🐾

I had a roommate take my fur baby and drop her at a shelter over an hour away, thinking I wouldn’t find her that far away. I did find her and she is still happy and healthy with her family. Some people will do anything to hurt others.

i once bawled at a vet office because a man came in with a beautiful dog that was scheduled to be euthanized that night (the dog was terminally ill). the staff alerted him that his ex wife was on her way to say good bye to the dog and not to put the dog down until she got there but the man said “absolutely not! put him down now!!! I win!!!” he had so much anger for his ex wife and zero sympathy for the dog. I wanted to punch this man so bad, I literally cried for days.
