My friend was once on a jury where her and one other were against. At 20yrs old she had grown men screaming in her face to change her opinion, people shoving her, full bullying and abuse for 4 days straight.

The discourse I’ve seen about this on Reddit is so polar-opposite from TikTok. People are literally defending the 3 male jurors and saying that the 9 women are keeping them from reaching the “correct” verdict. And it has like 10k upvotes. 💀💀💀 I hate people.

Juries are a shit show, I feel sorry for any person who has to depend on them with their life. I was on one where one guy, the minute we walked in the room for deliberation, said dead seriously, “Can we just agree this guy’s guilty so we’re not here until Christmas?” People are so biased also. We had 2 guys formerly in law enforcement on that same jury and they both were arguing with everybody saying the guy is guilty because they know the type of person he is because they had to deal with criminals all the time. The best those were of us who were not idiots could do was hang the vote so at least the guy could get another trial with new jury that hopefully wasn’t full of morons.

I’ve got to think there’s a majority leaning toward innocent (because the reasonable doubt is insanely high) and 1-2 holdouts ignoring the facts, so incensed by the deaths of children that they need someone to pay.
