Go read the chapter in Malachi where it says God hates divorce because He blames that divorce on a man treating his wife treacherously. No good father is ok with his daughter being abused.

If a man is saying those things to this woman , then God is showing you that man's character and he's showing you that you should leave.

My Pastor did a sermon on divorce and it hit home. He stated that God didn't want us to be in marriage that is not in his liking. we are supposed be in a marriage under the convent of God and if the marriage isn't then is it really a marriage.. I have struggled with this as well and after ther sermon I have realized that God wouldn't not want me to be continue to be in such marriage where I am not loved, unwanted, not respected.

The Bible says that God hates divorce. BUT nowhere in the Bible, does it say that God does not allow divorce. The church takes the word "hate" and teaches that it means that divorce is an actual sin, and God is going to send us to hell/condemn us for getting a divorce. Nowhere in the Bible, does it say that a spouse has to stay with an abuser/violent/pedophile etc spouse. It's the church that has twisted scripture to fit the narrative of "once married always married" even if it kills you.

God never said He hated divorce. That is a bad translation. If you read it in context, it’s clear that He says He hates the man who treats the wife of his youth treacherously and sets her aside in divorce. God does not hate divorce. He hates abusers. God does not hate the laws He creates and uses such as in Jeremiah when He divorced Israel.

This abusive "husband" already "divorced" her first by breaking his covenant with his "wife".
God also hates covenant breakers.
Just a thought 🤔

Bible teaches that marriage is intended to be a lifelong covenant, but it explicitly provides two main grounds where divorce is permitted: sexual immorality and abandonment by an unbeliever. The reasoning why God accepts a divorce in these specific scenarios is that the marriage covenant has already been fundamentally broken by one party. In these cases, the legal divorce serves as a protective accommodation for the innocent spouse. In the New Testament, Jesus addresses the issue of divorce directly during the Sermon on the Mount and in discussions with the Pharisees. He states that sexual unfaithfulness shatters the marital bond. The Reasoning: The Greek word used for sexual immorality is porneia, which encompasses adultery and other severe sexual betrayals. When a spouse commits adultery, they have physically and spiritually broken the "one flesh" union. God accepts divorce here because the unfaithful partner has already violated and dissolved the core covenant of the marriage. Abandonment by an UnbelieverThe Apostle Paul addresses situations where one spouse becomes a Christian, but the other does not, and the non-believing spouse chooses to leave the marriage. A lot of people think 💭 the-bible-makes-it-clear-that-god-hates-divorce-he-does-not-hate-divorced-people . The Reasoning: Marriage requires two willing participants. If an unbelieving spouse completely deserts the relationship and refuses to maintain the vows, the Christian spouse is no longer "bound" to that covenant. God accepts the divorce in this scenario to protect the remaining spouse from a dead relationship and to allow them to live in peace.

God hates divorce because he understands what happens to bring two people to the need of divorce. Pride, ego and lies and infidelity, and some times straight up abuse. he hates the action of divorce yes, but he hates what happens to bring on divorce more.

God wants you to have peace. You don’t need to EVER be in a relationship like that. The Lord tells the woman at the well to “Go in peace!” I’m telling you that! Trust the Lords hand. He sounds like a mean bully. Separate immediately from him. Scott is right. Go watch that movie on Netflix. Also watch Gas lit by my husband! That was my life. Remember to read your Bible for yourself. It doesn’t say divorce is unacceptable or against the Lord. It’s opposite of that. Abuse, abandonment and adultery are examples I believe God would want you to leave. I learned I can’t serve the Lord like I have now if I were still married. The anxiety left almost completely when I left him. Praying for you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 keep talking to the Lord about it all. 🙏🙏

This is what religion so often does—leads to women who are being controlled and manipulated by their faith. Women being told that staying in awful, toxic, sometimes dangerous situations is being faithful, loyal, a godly Proverbs wife. I left after 28yrs, didn’t see how abusive it was while I was in it because my entire focus was on showing my love for God by loving my husband when he was “hard to love.” That’s what I was taught for decades by the evangelical church. Left that toxic religion and the toxic husband. I discovered that God exists outside the church, and that peace and joy exist outside an awful marriage. Women, please wake up.
