Zelenskyy said the agreements would strengthen long-term cooperation in defense, energy and national resilience. “I am especially grateful for the decision to maintain a high level of support and allocate around $9 billion for 2027,” Zelenskyy said in a post on X. Reuters reported that Norway intends to provide 85 billion Norwegian kroner, or approximately $9.2 billion, to Ukraine in 2027, maintaining roughly the same level of assistance as in 2026. The funding will include both military and humanitarian support. The new drone agreement is particularly significant as unmanned systems have become central to Ukraine's strategy. Kyiv has increasingly used domestically produced long-range drones to strike Russian military, energy and logistics infrastructure far beyond the front lines. The agreement opens the way for deeper cooperation between the Ukrainian and Norwegian defense industries, including joint production, technology development and expansion of industrial capacity.
