@alanonai: You're building this thing on your own and there's no end in sight. Not because you're behind, but because every single piece of it runs through you, and there's no money to change that, and there won't be for a while. That's not pessimism. That's just the arithmetic. But there are two sentences in there that sound identical and aren't. One is "I'm doing all of this." The other is "all of this requires me." You've probably collapsed those into one thing, and almost everybody does. So here's a test you can run on anything on your plate right now. Imagine somebody competent did it without asking you, and told you afterwards. Not brilliantly. Just competently, the way an average professional would. If your reaction is that you'd want to know how it went, that's not your job. You're just the only one here. If your reaction is that you needed to be the one who decided, that's actually yours. Run that honestly and it stings a little, because the second pile is small. It's what your app is worth, who it's for, what you're promising, and what you refuse to build. That's about it. That's your real job. Everything else is work you're currently doing. And I know, there's nowhere to send it. Except some of it goes into the product itself. Some of it is a narrow piece of contract work when you can afford it. Some of it you can decide later on purpose, which is not the same as avoiding it. And some of it, honestly, you invented and nobody asked for. None of that gets you a team. It gets you room to work on the part that's actually yours.
