First off, embrace your inner rookie. At any age as a man avoid being too prideful to start a journey as a beginner. You’ll stop growing otherwise, now the kick story. ⬇️ It’s 1995, I’m a 6 year old kid in downtown Killeen Texas. Mortal Kombat had me in a headlock. Shout out to Liu Kang. He mastered the bicycle kick. That’s where he jumped in the air and continuously kicked similar to pedaling a bicycle (supernatural move). So I used to walk to the Boys & Girls club damn near daily. Foosball tournaments and such (I was cold at Foosball 😌). 🚨 Don’t remember how or why, but walking back I ended up in an aggressive exchange of words with a 5th grader. I was a quiet kid, but when I turned it on I turned it on. By the way I was talking you wouldn’t know I never been in a fight before that day. I disrespected him and his entire lineage. He wasn’t a fan of the disrespect, it escalated. ➡️ Talking shit was my plan A, B, and C. Apparently not his. Once the 5th grader walked up for his plan my new plan was to skedaddle. I was out of there, put my speed to the test.. I failed that test. The boy caught me in an alley, nowhere to run or hide. Fight or flight turned into just fight. So I turned to what I knew: Mortal Kombat. I squared up, jumped in the air.. both feet out. Started moving my legs like I was pedaling a bike. Bicycle kick 🤦🏾‍♂️. Long story short, I missed and hit the ground with a thump. The boy then provided me with feet and fists to the head and face until he grew tired. Good thing this was before smart phones 😅. I never kicked again 😆. ⬇️ On the fitness front I added kicking the bag to my list of high intensity cardio alternatives, helps keep things interesting. __ 📝 Whether you are or aren’t confident can change what you do in life. Type “CONFIDENCE” below or in my bio for instant access to my guide on self-confidence. . ⏳ Need guidance to pull your fitness journey out of the rookie phase❓ Check my bio or DM “COACHING” to explore how VIP coaching simplifies changing your mind and body.
