Stefano Pellegrini REPOST: @pels_ from fb.com/groups/milkywaychasers chosen by @Tracy Lee MWC Admin: @tracyleephotos Hash tag milkywaychasers to be featured or post on Fb.com/groups/milkywaychasers. Tag a friend who might enjoy this Milky Way image and journey! From Stefano about this image: www.instagram.com/pels_photo Nikon D850 | Irix 15 mm | ฦ’/2.4 | 13s | ISO 6400 Pano - staking - blend I spent a few days in Sardinia and, even though it was a more relaxing trip than usual, I still decided to dedicate 3 nights to shooting and stargazing. Sardinia is perfect for landscape and astrophotography: the nature is wild and beautiful, and the skies are dark with very low light pollution. My favorite place there is Capo Testa, so once I had to choose a shooting location, I immediately went for it. I spent an entire afternoon scouting the areaโ€”revisiting spots I had already framed (some of which I might re-edit now with fresh eyes and improved skills) and exploring new corners I had never been to before. I found several interesting locations, but this one stood out the most. Everything here is stunning: the rock that looks like a falconโ€™s head, the small cove, the barren landscape, and the colorful little bushes scattered around. The composition came to me instantlyโ€”I just had to figure out where to place myself with the light. Initially, I thought about standing on top of the falcon-shaped rock, making the light in my hand blend look like a star of the Milky Way. But in the end, I decided to use the rock as a kind of cave and play with the light bouncing inside and around it. The whole process took a lot of time. The panorama is almost a full 360ยฐ, with light painting and stacking to reduce noise. But in the end, the result turned out even better than I had hoped. The sky came out beautifullyโ€”not as colorful or dramatic as Cabo Verdeโ€™s, but still full of detail, and I even managed to capture a bit of airglow.
