@c5news: Police chases can look a little different in Australia. This one involved an emu. In a video that has since gone viral, a rookie officer is seen pursuing the flightless bird along a country road in New South Wales. The unusual pursuit began after Central West NSW police received a number of calls about the bird – the second tallest in the world – running across Cargo Road in Nashdale and blocking traffic. Chief Inspector David Ambercrombie said the “keen, young” officer took what he thought to be the best approach with the bird – he chased it. “I’m just lucky it wasn’t me,” the inspector said, adding: “My speed would not be up to scratch.” After the ‘catch me if you can’ scenario played out, the officer manged to move the Emu on without ruffling any feathers. No one was harmed in the incident, and it remains unclear where the emu came from, or ran off to. #5news #emu #bird
