@convertedcloset: Can you IMAGINE?! All I wanted was an outfit that referenced my mum, Rosemary, and this brilliant vintage silk with every colour rose in the flowers… I thought would be the sweetest thing! I’d BANKED on it. But when it arrived - omg. HOW could it be so “un-me”?? With no time for the dramatic overhaul it needed, I parked it. And there it hung, patiently, for TWO YEARS. So I called in my mum: “The inspo’s on you for this one!” And what do you know… even I am blown away! The key was letting go of the pleats - bulk like that around a high waistline is a no-go. But this rich silk, when gathered…. WHOOOAA!!! Puffed gathered sleeves to echo the skirt… and the collar-flap-ruffles? I KNOW. We even forgot to film one more look - the sleeves pop through the jacket armholes! I’m wearing the whole ensemble to an event celebrating Nancy, so I promise to post it then.
