You are such an amazing dad! She is beautiful just the way she is! My babygirl is 5, just turned 5- and her best friend is black - and she doesn’t see color yet - she loves that girl so much! she’s so pure and I just know the world will get to her one day and I just dread it 😭

Love this! I always tell my students they are beautiful and amazing. I have heard so many things from my students. My K-4’s are very aware.

I think kids her age grow out of it. My daughter couldnt understand why we were black and not brown. . its confusing because it isnt what their eyes see, and also they are coming into realization about race at the same time. They see the straight hair and compare it to their own, they see lighter skin and compare it to their own. I think you are doing right. Even get children books that teach this subject to our kids. It will work itself out.. if you notice it becoming an issue of concern that is when you may want to intervene but for now her discoveries of self is normal.
