In fact, he was calm enough for me to interact with him and film his video. Imagine being forced into a cold kennel, not knowing your fate—scared, confused, and overwhelmed. Anyone can understand why a frightened dog might growl. Growling can be a sign of discomfort, fear, or confusion. This is a reminder that shelter behavior can vary greatly depending on the person, approach, and stressful environment.
