The MiG still has some decent aircraft left. The MiG-31 is still literally one of the best long-range fighters. And the MiG-31K carries the hardest-to-shoot air-to-ground missile.

MiG lost due to the early MiG-29 , twin engine high maintenance , poor range and poor multi role ability ( mig-29m and MiG-35 came out too late , most would rather su-30 ) ( pointless to buy when J-10 and JF-17 exist )

wrong MiG has always mainly been high altitude Intercepters and it's what they currently do now interceptors before Su there was Yak Yak was the main low altitude fighter tho in modern times that role belongs mainly to Sukhoi MiG was never abandoned

The Su-27 was a game changer, it just couldn't be surpassed by MiG. And the collapse of the USSR made it worse for MiG. If not we would've already had the MiG-1.44.
