@artsncrafts768: Let me in on your secrets #book #annotating #reading #BookTok

ѕαναηηα :

better question: what books are yall reading that what you underline is the most philosophical sentence ever😭😭😭

☆ alex ☆ :

i’m an english major. i read a lot of 19th century novels for classes. you’d think my notes would be so profound and thoughtful. i wrote “pop off lizzy, know your worth” when elizabeth rejected mr. collins in pride and prejudice.

🧄🐝 :

they treat annotating like prime wattpad comment sections, i think

Bangchan’s thoracic spine ⁷⁸ :

i cannot fathom people sitting down and actually doing this. i only do this for school readings

c :

Since when are there rules to reading

dagniyai :

everything that seems familiar to your person, can be used as advice, can be helped, etc. When you listen to music, you pick apart lyrics to how it relates to you. When you watch movies, you find how it connects with you. Reading is a hobby that a lot of people enjoy, you just have to have thoughts and experiences in your mind to connect to the book

koko_m :

What I ask myself is how do you manage to stop reading to underline something

mar‼️🫦 :

whatever tf i want.

romy :

I mostly write: lol, diva, ew, shut up (usually with male characters) and the occasional aww

Olivia Czuba :

I underline the quotes that just resonate with me in one way or another

ali :

key terms and shi idk

Juni👽 :

this is gonna sound pretentious but i genuinely enjoy picking apart the deeper meanings of the stuff i'm reading

☆𖣂丰⚢ :

Rethorical devices

mubina :

I only did this for the books I had to read for my English class cause my teacher be saying my exam paper wasn’t showing too much analysis so I analyzed every paragraph 💀

Aliyarie ⚛️ :

I treat mine like it's a comment section, knowing damn well no one is gonna see it

chewing gum :

I read "! → exclamation" no way......

jank boteko :

i highlight lines i liked just so i can look back and find them again when i randomly get reminded of a book

Raya🌞🪽 :

i annotate my PJO books, by annotate i mean highlighting the parts that make me laugh, so when i re-read i laugh harder

mako :•) :

i usually underline if the line is too funny that i would go back and skim through those lmaoo

™ :

actually it depends, whatever book you read, if you find something important enough in your mind you'll underline it, whatever you find beautiful you'll underline it, whatever new words you find you'll underline it. It doesn't have to be an important thing at all, anything that feels good or bad in your mind you'll underline it to understand it better

stellaaaa 🎸🎶 :

everything idk? my question is where do ppl find highlighters that won’t bleed thru those thin ahh pages

Rosa 𐙚 :

I loveee underlining and writing little comments in my book because everytime I reread them it’s like « oh look what I thought there haha »

Bobby :

what ever you like. Things you were shocked by, were interesting or just beautifully written 🤷‍♀️

gwen :

whatever i want
