Daniel cheated. Daniel was the villain in that movie. in a karate tournament if you kick somebody in the face that's a disqualification and besides that Mr miyagi stole a black belt off a table and enter Daniel into the competition as a black belt and he wasn't so that's a disqualification they both cheated

the trick to making this indefensible is do it when the opponent doesn't know what you are doing. the crane kicked worked because Johnny didnt know it was coming. as far as Johnny knew, Daniel was doing some weird stance or maybe Daniel was panicking and just doing some random thing. thats why it worked. Johnny didnt know it was coming. thats why Chozen could defend it. he knew what the crane kick is. saw it coming when Daniel did the stance.
