@chicagos.mayor: A world class city deserves a world class education system. Millionaires benefit from strong public accommodations and a vibrant public education system is good for business.
Was Walter Payton not basically private.. it’s hard for average students to get in and it’s not a cheap school to be in. I would consider that borderline private and I was going to go there before my parents moved to the suburbs.

But because of the teachers union he wont allow charter schools which would actually benefit the poor children who are stuck with horrible pathetic public schools. Therefore as always talks a good game but talk is cheep and action speak louder than words!!!!!🧐😎

Ms. J. :
What bothers me is how she’s trying to over talk Mayor Johnson while he’s trying to make a point to state the obvious when it comes to people who are millionaires or billionaires and sending their children to Chicago Public Schools.

I’d love to see our other CPS schools raised to the level of our selective enrollment schools. And we need a lot of funding to get there. I remember when I toured Lane, I was floored at the programs, facilities, and technology available there vs the overwhelming majority of high schools in our district. Our kids deserve opportunities like that in their neighborhood schools, too. It shouldn’t just be available to the 10% of students in selective enrollment schools.

The aldermen won’t tax the super rich and corporations. Constituents shd call their alders and demand the city tax the rich, not working ppl. We need our meters back too. The mayor is right.

Let the man push for better public education after the last administrations closed so many schools down. Arguing the technicalities of what’s makes a public school is useless and unhelpful. 🤦🏽♂️Do yall want him to undo the bs that happened before him or nah? 😑
