The fact people thought Jayce would do that to someone he thought was/viewed as his best friend for ‘no apparent reason.’ There was OBVIOUSLY a reason. Everyone got too busy labeling him as a stupid himbo instead of the intelligent, thought through character and person he was. “VIKTOR LOOKED SCAREDDDD” uhhh… yes. well. when you have that weapon pointed at you by Jayce you too would look that way. Jayce only ever wanted the Arcane to be used for good and betterment of the world. What happened and what he saw was GOING TO HAPPEN was the opposite and he KNEW what he needed to do. The discourse over this was insane to me.
