@gabrielkuper: A day in the life of a plastic surgery resident… on Ortho trauma call 🦴 Started the morning rounding, spent the day seeing consults and learning from the Ortho team, with one pretty special break in the middle: stepping out to run a breast cancer charity event organized by a group of med students who absolutely crushed it and raised over $20,000. 🎀 Then it was straight back to the hospital for more consults, more learning… and apparently a little flat bench in the Ortho call room 😂 One of the coolest parts of residency is getting to rotate through specialties adjacent to your own. There’s so much to learn from orthopaedic surgery that translates directly to plastic surgery and trauma care. Long days, lots of patients, lots of learning. Pretty grateful that I get to live and breathe medicine every day. Day in the life: Ortho trauma edition 🦴🔨
