@princessleahpeah: platelets helped yesterday but i’m still very low. i’d say hovering around 5-7 versus being wayyyy under 5. my body just destroys platelets so fast. i should notice a difference with my symptoms tomorrow as i get closer to 72 hours after my nplate injection. gums are still bleeding but much less. nose has stopped bleeding. if this drop happened at the same time as my cycle, i would have been admitted. i haven’t needed platelets in a while. i took the kids to school and went to my appointment. by the time i reached my nurse i was just in tears. i was just SO tired, my mouth hurt from the blisters, i just discovered the mark by my eye, my bruises spread, i was lightheaded, and short of breath. the nurses couldn’t remember the last time my symptoms presented so harshly and so visible. i also don’t have any guarantee that this injection will work. sometimes it doesn’t and i have to go back for another injection on the 4th day. but i’m still here. so here’s to that. cheers. #platelets #itp #autoimmunedisease #chronicillness #bruises
