I left home at 18, chasing a better life. I’ve been in Cape Town ever since, and now, in my late 30s, I realise how much life has changed. I lost both my parents before I could make it, and somewhere along the way, I became distant from my siblings. Sometimes I wonder if the life I was chasing came at a price I never expected to pay.
