I hate the whole “misunderstanding but the person runs away before it can be explained” and the other character just stands there and is like “no wait!” And doesn’t even bother running after them. Like bro just light jog after them what are we doing 😂

I literally stopped watching most TV shows because after the first season or two the entire premise of the show always turns into entire seasons based around one miscommunication or "I have to keep a secret because the people that I have established as my inner circle could never know or help, except for when they find out and help at the end and it turns out I was being shitty and hostile and weird for no reason" bullshit, and then it turns into that for every remaining season. I cannot stand a plot that can be ruined by one character actually having a two minute conversation with someone they love.

This trope is genuinely so awful I would give up state secrets if I was tortured by being forced to watch and read media with this trope where the characters just go "Wait wait wait, I can explain!" for a million years while the other character packs their bag and leaves instead of actually fucking explaining

I hate this so much especially when they never even clear up the misunderstanding in the end it drives me insane I spend the whole time waiting on it to finally be cleared up and sometimes they just pile on more misunderstandings its terrible 😭😹 so stressful for me

Personally my least favorite tropes are this and lying for no reason. Like “he cant know!” WHY?? WHY CAN’T HE KNOW HE LIKE JAZZ REBEKAH? Istg half of the problems in movies/shows/books would be solved if people just stopped lying for no reason “they’re scared!” Who cares! Dont even have to give the whole truth, but lying just adds soooo much more chaos to an already bad situation oml
