One of the most polarizing takes I’ve seen regarding the trial. Credit to @lonedragonfly for reading it and @steve_mudflap_mcgrew for writing it. I do not necessarily agree with the op-ed as it lumps all women in together too broadly (I am not a modern feminist nor do I support LC in her crime), minimizes the complexity of women’s health and seems to support misogyny. However I do agree that the government does take landmark cases such as the LC trial to create precedents that set humanity backward instead of forward. I thought it was worth the share for conversational purposes. However on IG I had to turn the comments off at 2.4M views and 2,500 comments. What began as an open discourse giving men and women the chance to respectfully share opinions turned ugly, hateful, spiteful and divisive. Unfortunately. Hopefully that doesn’t happen here.

This is so stupid. First, everyone has hormones, including men. Hormones regulate vital functions like your heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar, and metabolism. If you weren’t hormonal, you’d be dead. Second, an employer generally cannot ask you about your medical conditions in an interview. That can violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). And if they specifically asked a woman about a female medical condition, or whether she’s “hormonal” just because she’s a woman, that could also implicate Title VII’s protections against sex based discrimination. So if an employer is asking women about their hormones or female-specific medical conditions simply because they’re women, they could potentially be running afoul of TWO federal anti-discrimination laws. lololol
