The medicine speaks through us, in us, and as us. During Reiki this morning, I realized there were still parts of me afraid to let go… not because I wanted to suffer, but because I was afraid someone else would carry it for me. So many people have told me they would rather hurt themselves than watch me hurt. And knowing how this pain feels, I’ve unconsciously tried to protect everyone from it. But my inner child is not a contagion. She is light. My body is not dangerous. It is holding trauma I accidentally learned to identify as “me.” Trauma. NOT truth. There is no holiness in holding onto pain just because it became familiar. There is no safety in remaining unwell so others can feel safe around your healing. You do not have to carry suffering to prove your goodness. And for the first time, I think my body finally heard it. There is no reason to hold onto pain anymore.
