Pregnant women actually can drink and do drugs. It is actually illegal to refuse to serve a Pregnant person alcohol. All you can do is tell the pregnant person about the potential risks and let them make their own decisions. It's why bars and restaurants have a gazillion signs that state drinking while pregnant is harmful to the fetus so they aren't liable.

I know someone whos had four kids and never stopped smoking once. 3/4 are fine. But theres a reason its advised against, and that 1/4 is it. Does she still smoke? Damn right. 🤦♀️shes also a nurse, and ill never understand.

There is no law against a pregnant woman drinking or doing drugs while they’re pregnant. It is recommended by their doctors to not drink or do drugs, but your body, your choice.

They can actually do all those things if they want, there will just be consequences for that - consequences that will affect an innocent baby. So not at all comparable to abortion.

I worked in a winery and served a obviously pregnant woman wine, it would be discrimination if I didnt serve it to her and id be in trouble not her. people can make their own choices even if some people think its wrong

it is also not only perfectly legal to drink alcohol while pregnant, it is legally protected. Medical advice and social consequences are not legal regulations on your body.

Not to mention, in Ontario at least, it’s not actually illegal to drink while pregnant. AND an establishment can be sued for discrimination if they refuse to serve. They SHOULDN’T drink, we know this. But it’s NOT illegal. Their body, their choice.

The interesting thing is there are no legal restrictions on pregnant women from doing drugs or drinking. In fact, in many places it is illegal NOT to serve a pregnant person (even if you know) because it is against their right to choose to drink.

Also...it's not illegal to drink while pregnant?? People look down on knowing that you're pregnant, intending to carry the child to term, and still drinking morally and ethically, but that's because doing anything that endangers the wellbeing of your child is generally looked down on.

a person whos not getting an abortion has basically given the fetus permission to be in her body, & the same way its kinda illegal to poison your house guests, its illegal to poison your body guests. but if you haven't given permission for the fetus to be there, then its still your choice
