Licensed structural engineer here. Rammed earth has no bending resistance it only has compression resistance so it wont work for a suspended floor. Yes there are old storey buildings without iron rods but all those buildings have Timber which is doing the bending resistance work of the iron rod. why use iron rod instead of timber? iron rods have higher fire resistance, doesn't rot, doesn't house pests. Cement has higher compression strength than limestone. I hope its clear now 🙏
