Joe Exotic the former Oklahoma zookeeper made famous by Netflix's Tiger King, has been moved to a new federal facility. The announcement came Friday from his official Facebook page, which told supporters they could now send letters to him at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He had previously been serving his time at the federal medical facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The 63-year-old is currently serving a reduced 21 year federal sentence. He was convicted in 2019 on multiple counts, including two counts of murder for hire in a plot targeting his rival Carole Baskin, as well as several violations of federal wildlife laws under the Endangered Species Act and the Lacey Act. He was originally sentenced to 22 years in January 2020, but a federal appeals court ruled the two murder-for-hire counts should have been treated as one for sentencing purposes, and he was resentenced in January 2022. He and his legal team have repeatedly sought a presidential pardon or compassionate release, especially following his prostate cancer diagnosis in late 2021. In March 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review his bid for a new trial, closing out his latest attempt to overturn the conviction. His projected release date remains around March 2036. #tigerking #mugshot #arrest #prison #police
