hugo whined for half an hour today when I put him in his crate for a nap, he had been to toilet, had play time and training, so he was wanting for nothing.he slept for an hour.they do push their luck

my 1 year old dachshund has just started going through a phase of being so whiney and beggy, i never give in to him but he won’t stop it, how do i deal with it? last night it took him 4 hours on and off to settle in his crate

Hi Lily, we followed your crate training videos and Lando successfully goes down for his naps without getting upset now, so thank you 🙏 I wanted to ask though, because I work remotely he’s developed separation anxiety and we can’t leave the house without him freaking out and barking to the point of him overheating and being stressed. I’ve tried the yoyo method but it’s not ideal when I have to leave the house for errands without him! Anything you can recommend? He’s really food driven but will still freak out the moment we leave him with a chew etc.

i work from home upstairs and my nearly 6 months old was learning if he pees in the crate he gets let out so every 10 mins he would do a little piddle and I realised he knew as I would take him out to clean it. so started leaving ignoring the screams and leaving him even when he did a piddle and now the tantrums are getting less and not peeing in the crate and just goes to sleep

what would you suggest if you know all their needs are met but its not jsut a whine for a few minuets but a bark and scream that dosnt stop the second your out of sight

my puppy SCREAMS for about 30 mins, I’m trying to crate train and he cries and cries for ages he howls, screams and just generally hates it. Google is telling me that 30 mins is too long but today he actually relaxed and went to sleep (after 30 mins of crying) any advice? I go back to work on Monday so he needs to be ok for a few hours in the crate (he’s 10 weeks on Friday)

We are trying to crate train and the minute we walk off my 12 week old puppy is still going absolutely mental 😭 it’s so hard! How long do we realistically leave them to self settle because he hasn’t fallen asleep in there by himself yet 😭 xx

We have combated crate training issues, toilet training is going well and accident free for a couple of days now but she hates being left alone. Any tips as I feel im being held hostage at this point lol. I hate to think of her crying whilst I am out. I’ve only ever left her for an hour so far and she didn’t settle at all so now I only leave her to take kids to school 🤦🏼♀️. I don’t allow her to follow me around anymore and have put a stairgate which she has no accepted.

I have a nearly 1 year old lab cross who barks when going to let him out his crate, and when he knows im doing his food. any tips? I do make it him and wait for quiet before letting him out but is that the right thing?

We have a 9 week old puppy and we got her 2 days ago. She has a crate downstairs and has been sleeping so well in there with the door shut in the day. At night, she wakes middle of the night and cries, then she howls.. we try and leave her but I don’t want her to be so distressed as she is just a baby. I usually go down and sit outside her crate till she calms down and falls back asleep. Is this okay? X

I leave puppy in pen for 2 seconds and he starts SCREAMING as soon as I look away for half a second and refuses to stop screaming until someone takes him out of the pen

Hi lily so my puppy comes back to the whistle but I’m a bit scared to let her of lead I’m a bit scared If she doesn’t come back to me where my other big dog dose but I what my puppy to have fun on walk of lead and come back when I call hope this makes sense and could you help me with some advice? 😁❤️

And puppies have their own timeline, so mine took 6 months of consistent crate training before she didn’t tantrum. She still has fomo tantrums and she’s 4 now 😳😭

my boy goes on timeout when he gets too bitey, as he usually needs a nap and a chance to self regulate before coming back out. he cries and cries, i have to tell myself nothings wrong and hes just annoyed hes on timeout, eventually he stops and settles himself when he comes back out!

mine barked for like an hour and its eyes were red, its fine being left alone in its crate to sleep aslong as the door isn't shut so we mad a very small area that has a tiny extension on the crate and she sleeps in their is that finr?
