@reuters: Canada hit back with retaliatory tariffs on about $20 billion worth of U.S. annual imports and rolled out aid for businesses and workers, matching Washington's latest duties dollar-for-dollar. Promit Mukherjee goes through the numbers. #canada #tariffs #uspolitics #trump #markets
Let me get this straight, US will pay a few cents more for TP.
Canadians will loose thousands of job and businesses will shut down.
How is Canada winning again?

95% of Canada’s trade comes from U.S. however, only 10% of U.S trade is with Canada. If I was a Canadian, I would be worried.

I’m just wondering what’s gonna happen when there’s a 300% surcharge on all Food way into Canada from the United States as Canada buys 75% of its fruits and vegetables from the United States, the oil problem is going to be significant, the United States purchases some Canadian oil, refined it, and then send it to the half of Canada, wonder what they’re gonna do now, no oil on the eastern half of Canada and no way to refine it

I’m betting that there will be a new business created in the United States for each one of those companies you think we still need from Canada. We can make toilet paper in the United States too.

a pulp mill making pulp for TP just closed down on BC because it couldn't compete with the Asian markets. Canada increases their pulp prices, where do you think the Americans will source their pulp from? another pulp mill just closed down in Quebec, but I believe their pulp was for cardboard boxes, but cited tariffs for their closing.

You know that the US supplies its own toilet paper and even exports toilet paper so we’re good. We don’t need Canadian toilet paper.
