I called in sick to work the other day. Started the call with "I can't come in today, in feeling really sick, I ha.." and was about to explain how I was sick. Manager cut me off and said "Nah that's cool, if you're sick, you're sick, don't have to tell me why" then asked if I would need the next day off as well. I was kind of stunned into silence.

I work in Tesco, I had 17 days off to see my man, I came back and all my shift leads were saying they’re glad I was back because it was HARD doing what I do. Bare in mind I usually do at least 5 hours a day because of uni, and I usually have to work a whole chiller, they couldn’t do it either and still expected me to do it 😭

Iv had this exact conversation with a past employer when I told them if they wanted me to work over I charge £50 per hour they said how do you get that I said my time is worth more to me than the pittance you pay me end of discussion lol 😂
