this does nothing to discuss AI datacenters specifically. normal datacenters have been around for forever, they use a lot of electricity, sure, but it spikes based on usage. AI datacenters have thousands of specialized processing units that crank at full power 24/7. these consume orders of magnitude more electricity, produce WAY more noise, and demand water sources to keep them cool. there's a coordinated effort going on right now to make people think that these AI datacenters popping up everywhere are just the normal datacenters we've been using for 30+ years and that opposing them means you're a hypocrite because you use the internet, but that's not true at all

Mind you they can build adequate soundproofing barriers, pay for the locals relocation 3x’s over, pay their own operating costs themselves without raising utility bills for everyone else, and not polluting the local drinking water. But they’re not going to do that bc they’re GREEDY PIECES! 😒😒😒😒😒😒
