My high school has a welding class and if we stay there for 3 years we get a certificate that helps us get a welding job

Some things are ok to cheap out on. Harbor freight aren’t that bad of tools either. BUT NEVER CHEAP OUT on helmets, gloves, or other forms of PPE! It WILL come back to get you

I bought the Vulcan welding hood when I was in welding academy. I have had it for 4-5 years and have used it everyday no issues at all. Only had to change the battery every six months. Would definitely recommend.

any recommended light I can use in the garage because when I look over the metal I block the main overhead lights and can't see getting started, or I'm in an awkward position where the overhead lights don't shine enough

I took welding at Tech school and the enrollment fee included pretty much everything i needed but that was 1985

Auto tint was not allowed where I learned. Had to be the old school hoods. Glad you didn’t say the gloves because they were gone within the first rod or two. Even with MCAW they didn’t last a shift
