I figured out the reason why this is, is because then they seem like an asshole and ableist for making fun of you the entire time ( some will still stay the same way regardless though unfortunately ), so it's their shame leaking out like a broken faucet realizing they were not justified in alienating us

some people in the comments are saying it's because they're feeling shame, but personally I feel like they're just mad you got a reason and they can't keep bullying you comfortably without you mentioning your diagnosis to them, especially since they know they lost the chance to publicly humiliate you cuz they'll be the one getting judged instead, mfs like this don't feel shame they're just more annoyed until they find a new way to bully you

I still remember back in my primary school, we had a special education program for autistic and other neurodivergent students. Funny thing is, my friend and EVEN THE TEACHER called me the 'special education' kid even though I was in normal class. They called me weird and different. HOW DID PEOPLE JOKE ABOUT THIS AND NEVER ACTUALLY LOOKED INTO THIS. I'm still not diagnosed, just suspecting. Doctors doesn't believe me.
