I don’t understand “have them duplicate viral videos” it’s hard enough to film our own content, let alone rope someone else into consistently making content. Do we all have the ride or die friends? Do we pay them? What am I missing here?

The only reason why it's cheesy for the artists to do it is because people have become jaded and also pessimistic. 99% of people's music taste is based off of their aesthetic and their perception of people. For new artists that perception is always extremely negative. Meanwhile they try to signal that they want authenticity and that's what matters. As an artist who has been making music for ten years and has had 35,000 listeners and is down to less than 200, that's my perception. What he's saying is definitely viable and I might try completely changing my musical alias. I'll never show my face either

So this is what I struggle with, if you are supposed to be authentic as an artist and it’s a struggle, isn’t the journey of that part of it, and showing that? Is an artist suppose to be pretend to be doing better than they are to appear “mysterious”. I can’t be bothered to pretend, it’s too tiring. I’d rather just be honest. Please correct me if I’m totally wrong 🙏
