Ghanaians don’t have close relationship with their neighboring countries because of the language barrier. Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Togo and Benin are all French speaking countries and Ghanaians don’t speak French. The only country that speaks English but not our neighbor is Nigeria. That’s why irrespective of the distance between Ghana and Nigeria, both countries still have that close relationship as if they are neighbors.
