Part 1 ~ API Design - What REST Actually Is REST is not "JSON over HTTP." It's a set of architectural constraints and most APIs people call REST don't actually satisfy all of them. In this video, you'll learn what REST genuinely means, why the constraints exist, and what your API gets when you follow them. We start from the basics: naming things instead of actions, the uniform interface that lets proxies and CDNs work without knowing anything about your app, and why statelessness is what makes your service scale horizontally without coordination. Then we cover HATEOAS - the constraint almost nobody ships, and why skipping it is usually the right call as long as you know you're skipping it. By the end you'll know the difference between a REST API and an HTTP API, which anti-patterns break the model, and exactly what the constraints buy you.
