Survodutide might be WAY more interesting than just another weight-loss drug. 🧬🔥 Everyone is watching the scale. I’m watching the liver. Survodutide is an investigational dual GLP-1 + glucagon receptor agonist and the Phase 3 data are getting seriously interesting. In people with obesity and at-risk fatty liver disease (MASLD), 84.2% of participants receiving survodutide achieved at least a 30% reduction in liver fat at 48 weeks versus 24.3% with placebo. Even crazier? About 6 out of 10 reached liver fat levels below 5%. And in the separate obesity trial, survodutide produced up to 16.6% average weight loss over 76 weeks. But here’s what fascinates me. Survodutide isn’t simply making people eat less. We’re manipulating the same brain-gut-metabolic signaling network involved in hunger, satiety, energy balance and metabolic regulation. Preclinical research published this year showed survodutide activating brain regions involved in appetite regulation through its GLP-1 activity. So maybe the bigger conversation isn’t: “How much weight can this drug make someone lose?” Maybe it’s: “Why was the metabolic system dysregulated enough to produce obesity and fatty liver in the first place?” The drugs are getting better. Now our understanding of the biology needs to get better too. 🔬 Educational purposes only. Not medical advice. Survodutide remains investigational, and these results should not be interpreted as establishing it as an approved treatment. #Survodutide #GLP1 #Glucagon #WeightLoss #Obesity
