@poppopballoon: Tried to get a little vacation away from balloons and of course this would happen. This caption is a little long so buckle in. . The way @Kalahari Resorts handled this situation was beyond unacceptable. And they should be ashamed this even happened in the first place, and even more ashamed with the lack or any caring or remorse. We even asked to escalate the situation to the GM and were told he wasn’t available. They did however give us his email. . Got into our room, checked everything out and it all looked good. I always check the corners of the beds for signs of bed bugs, it was all clear. Bedding looked clean and everything seemed fine. . Showered off and got in bed, once in bed something smelled off, but as we looked around nothing seemed dirty…… that was until we pulled up the sheets fully to see that the middle of the mattress protector was covered in urine. Right where we were laying. . Called down and they switch us rooms, no manger was there so we had to wait till morning to speak with him. . Called down to ask for him, an hour later still haven’t heard back, so we go down to the front desk. . We asked for our stay to be fully refunded and a resort credit for the rest of our stay to try a salvage what we could. (which was 2 night btw) and all they would do was refund one night and offered some VIP concierge service and maybe a cabana rental. (So basically nothing) . The only way to get a full refund was to leave today and cut our trip short. And there was no way we were paying any more of our own money on a trip that was ruined by what they did (or didn’t do) . This is a crazy health code violation, has freaked us out for any hotel in the future, and it’s just unacceptable in so many ways . As someone who is involved in customer service is my own business this blows my mind. I would never ever treat a customer this way, and I feel like we were being reasonable.
