@dr.k.sislow: I know you spent big $$$ on the gold fillings and crowns in your mouth. But I will absolutely not extract them after you have died as inheritance for your children. I can’t believe how many times I have been asked this. Now, if we extract a tooth with a gold crown, or cut off a gold crown, I will ABSOLUTELY give you the gold, which you can then sell! (Expect about $50-100 from a scrap metal business) But you need to be ALIVE! . #dentist #dentistry #healthcare #goldtooth #doctor . . Disclaimer: This is for informational and educational purposes. Incorrect. You cannot charge more for an extraction just because you want to. Not how it works pal

Legit question actually. No one wants to basically throw away money if there’s any value to the teeth

I’m not dead, yet. But I had an old gold crown removed & a new crown made, the DDS I was working for at the time in the early 90’s made the crown for free, not even a lab charge. I got $300 for it at a pawn shop 🤷♀️

I’m a receptionist, I get asked this a lot. Like yes, someone can sell the gold after you die or if it’s no longer able to be used in your mouth, it’s worth money. But no, we won’t do the extracting after you die. Maybe talk to a funeral home? Put it in your burial paperwork? IDK

You can ask the mortician to give you your loved one’s gold teeth, and they usually do
