Let's assume a monopoly does form, now what? How would that monopoly perform internal economic calculation, it's simply ridiculous to claim a monopoly is more efficient. This is evident when we attempt to name a historically natural Monopoly, not once had one managed yo sustain itself, why did standard oil go from 90% to 60% and had to be dismantled? Because being a monopoly to maintain itself It's forced to endlessly buy up competition.

His whole argument is free markets don’t work because a business would provide a better service then the others and become a monopoly… kinda the point, have competition, make things more affordable and better then if they stop and go the other way people will get a different service

Can a truly free market prevent monopolies on its own?

They also don’t understand natural monopolies. If someone owns the reservoir in an area, good luck building one from scratch and making it profitable against the existing one

It's crazy to me that there are people who think that removing the only thing preventing monopolies from gaining even more influence in daily people's lives will somehow result in no monopolies, that's pure willful ignorance

a monopoly is simply impossible if you’re not regulating the market as even a company with a 100% market share would need to compete with it‘s future competitors.

If you buy every competitor, then there will be a Special companies created for one purpose - to buy at overprices. And because information is asymmetric, these companies simply won't be able to effectively buy other companies

Even Milton Friedman called them "Natural Monopolies", its something that just happens under capitalism

monopolies happen more without government intervention, less competition legislation to restrict companies from taking the market share

This is true. We need regulation for a fair market. This isn’t widely contested among capitalists.

You don't need billions to start a business. Even in such a scenario a company that offers the same service at a cheaper price would get the customers of the original "monopoly" and slowly take over.

who would have thought. When a Company is better then every other Company it will be the only Company Left. Wow. And also lets say one Company gets so Ultra powerfull. Everyone can Compete and if the powerfull Company would provide Bad Service the Customers would have enough reason to Switch to a Smaller Not so powerfull Company.
