I know some people are going to focus on the fact that I cussed, but if you knew the full story, you wouldn’t be worried about that part. This all started because my mom was talking to me disrespectfully, and instead of arguing back, I stayed quiet because I wasn’t trying to start a fight, but somehow I got called rude for not responding and was told I have to start taking the bus to work now. What makes it even more frustrating is that I literally stayed an hour after my shift ended waiting for them to pick me up, and I already know some people are going to say, “You’re not entitled to a ride,” and that’s true, but if you tell your kid you’re going to pick them up from work, then leave them there for an hour and act like they’re the problem afterward, that’s frustrating. I’m just tired because I’ve dealt with this kind of stuff for years, and every time I talk about moving out, they laugh in my face like it’s a joke. On the way home, things got even worse because I had food that I bought with my own money from work, I had a bunch of stuff on my lap and was trying to buckle myself in, so I set the food down for a second, and my mom unbuckled herself and started trying to take it, and I told her no because I paid for it myself and wasn’t giving it away. That turned into an even bigger argument, my dad got mad, swerved off the road, and everything escalated from there, my food got crushed, everyone was yelling, and somehow the focus became the food instead of the fact that the whole situation had gotten completely out of control. People always say “respect your parents,” but respect goes both ways, and what people see is one reaction, not the years of feeling disrespected, laughed at, and constantly dealing with arguments that never needed to happen in the first place. This is just a reminder that if you’re living in a difficult household, keep working, keep saving, and keep planning because one day you’ll be able to build a life with more peace, and that’s exactly what I’m working toward right now. #toxichousehold #toxicparenting #fyp #xyzbca #abuse
