That’s why I hate the “who set that system up” argument because no man alive established patriarchy and usually when a woman is saying that, she is literally upholding patriarchal standards and shaming a man for not living up to them. They’ll make fun of a man for crying or wearing rhinestones and then when he points out how ridiculous that is they throw the patriarchy back in his face like he isn’t trying to break out of it, and that it’s his fault that they think a man being feminine makes him weak/bad. Patriarchy obviously started with men and I don’t want to make the argument that it’s women’s fault that the patriarchy exists bc it’s not, but men and women can uphold patriarchal standards.

We have to learn that there is no such thing as toxic masculinity. No masculinity is toxic. Masculinity represents positivity as a concept. What they call toxic masculinity is basically an effeminate behavior in men => femininity where it isn't supposed to be. They hate themselves and their own attributes.
