@unpainted.stories: A phone accidentally fell from a moving car while its camera was still recording. At first, everything looked normal. But near the end of the recording, the footage suddenly became distorted and filled with strange patterns, waves, and blurry shapes. The bizarre video quickly went viral, with some viewers wondering if they were seeing something unexplained. But there’s a scientific explanation. As the phone fell, it was spinning, shaking, and moving rapidly. The camera sensor, image stabilization, and video-compression system were all trying to process the rapidly changing scene. That can produce unusual lines, geometric patterns, motion distortion, and other visual artifacts. So what looked mysterious wasn't necessarily something unusual in the environment. It was a camera struggling to understand extreme motion. 📱🌀 Disclaimer: This explanation is based on established camera and image-processing principles. Without examining the original footage and device, the exact cause of the visual artifacts cannot be confirmed.
