Until I was 12 or so my mom used to violently yell frothing at her mouth "I made you, I will kill you" and mind you I wasn't even doing much, I was a very easy child but I was just too smart for her, outside of legitimate reasons such as me failing school cuz I was depressed, she'd fall into this anger mostly when she couldn't win arguments. Now I know she didn't really mean it but there's a seed of truth to every threat and emotion, instinctually I was a threat to her ego or something which in heat of the moment would be dangerous, she did attack me a few times which to this day she won't admit.
