This is true but unfortunately I can't find any petite sizes because most brands don't make them over a size 4 half the time (signed, size 10 and sadly forced to be unfashionable)

when i was i highschool i worked at a jcpenney and learned that I had a short torso (even though I was 5'4") because peplum tops were super in style (and i loved them) but the only ones that fit me right were petite-sized

Yes. It refers to proportions also. I have very long legs and a shorter torso. Even though im 5'6", petite tops fit my bust and shouldets better.

i have to go to the big and tall section to get pants most of the time because I'm a 48/38 💀. most men's pants are super long and I end up hemming them or just stepping on the cuffs and tearing them apart 💀💀💀
