@deep.conspiracy0: The Amazon River at night looks like nothing but dark water & Quiet riverbanks. A jungle so completely still it seems like the entire world has gone to sleep beneath it. Then someone pointed a thermal camera at it & the river stopped being empty. One glowing body appeared against the cooler darkness of the water then another then ten then the camera kept moving, following the river deeper into the rainforest & the bodies kept appearing. Hundreds of alligators scattered across every surface of the Amazon’s nighttime landscape. On the muddy riverbanks, sandbars, shallow channels, below the surface of the water, their heat signatures glowing against the cold dark like embers scattered across the floor of something ancient & indifferent to being watched. Some were swimming, some were completely still, invisible to every human sense except the one that reads heat rather than light. This is what the Amazon looks like at night, not the calm, dark river that aerial footage shows, not the quiet jungle that nature documentaries use as establishing shots before the action begins. This. An entire world of apex predators moving through the water in complete darkness, aware, coordinated, unbothered by the absence of light because the darkness was never a problem for them but an advantage. #fyp #truestory #amazonforest #horror
