people always forget that solving for what's inside the parenthesis doesn't make them disappear u still have to solve for it so 2x3 would go first. the official correct answer IS 1 but 9 would also be an acceptable answer because the question was written poorly

Most countries say its 1, only a few countries but mainly America say its 9. This is because the American syllabus converts the 2(3) to 2 x 3, in other countries 2(3) is treated as “one”, so 6/ 2(3) is changed to 6/6

You changed the operation of parenthesis to normal multiplication. The 2 needs to be distributed into the parentheses, so 2(3) operation is done before the 6/2. Answer is 1.
