@unproblematicmak: You guys have gone way too far. Sex based oppression is very real and you will NOT erase that to prop another group up. #endviolenceagainstwomen #transwomen #ciswomen #patriarchy #misogyny

Yea you are oppressed as a cis women but you still have privilege over trans women because you are cis that’s the only argument, it doesn’t negate the fact that we face oppression because of our sex. This is like the basic principles of intersectionality

Because why is it easier for them to get gender affirming surgery but my gyno wanted my husband’s permission for a medically needed hysterectomy? And tried to deny it completely and said I might change my mind and sue him years from now

I'm not being transphobic, but I genuinely HATE when they use female infertility as an argument. I had my first period at age 8, due to hormonal problems... I had uterine cancer at age 11, although I managed to cure myself and keep my uterus, my periods are horrible, Obviously, I was advised not to have children at all because I would most likely just have miscarriages... I never particularly thought about being a mother because I always hated the hospital. But knowing that my body is failing me is painful beyond the medical problems.I hate it when they refer to the uterus as "degrading womanhood to an organ"... Why, to begin with, is having a uterus considered degrading?. It was precisely because of that thought that the doctors dismissed my medical case because at 11 years old "I couldn't have uterine cancer", They called me dramatic, they performed biopsies and procedures without anesthesia because they thought that way I would "stop pretending". I went to a couple of 8M marches in México... marches with my parents because anesthesia will be guaranteed during medical procedures. It's disheartening to see that each year the marches talk more about "killing TERFs", that regarding the cases of disappearances in the country, or about the large number of femicides, the high rate of CHILD pregnancy, etc. Sorry, but trans woman, you are not infertile nor do you experience the same things as an infertile cis woman. You may have body dysmorphia, but you shouldn't seek the leadership that doesn't belong to you... I would never compare my case to that of another infertile woman because it is obvious that they are different experiences even though they may seem similar... You shouldn't do that either.

But see the part of this that you are missing is that trans people are also oppressed based on sex. If trans people get access to hrt or surgeries and start making changes to their sex, that comes with a ton of not just gender but also sex based issues, especially around health care, but also socially because they are now visibly a different sex or "between" sexes. That is where being a cis woman comes with privileges over trans people. People know what category to put you in, and while being categorized as a woman is dehumanizing, it is more dehumanizing to be categorized as some alien thing because you don't fit into a sexed category.

being cisgender is a privilege, a transgender woman has to face both sexism and Transphobia at a systemic level.

If you are comparing the two then its absolutely correct that cis women have more privilege. If you are saying that one shouldnt over-shadow the other I agree.

It is though. We will always have certain privileges as women especially white women. That’s not saying we have never been or are not oppressed in certain aspects. But we’re still more privileged than let’s say a gay black man for example.

I'm born a cisgender woman and it absolutely is a privilege. when people say you have a privilege they aren't saying you have an easy life. they aren't saying you aren't oppressed in any way. it's simply saying there are ways in which you don't suffer.

As a woman soon to give birth, you’re absolutely correct that there are forms of oppression associated with the sex based characteristics of females. Oppression Olympics is only divisive and alienates people from progressive movements.

I hear u but I kinda disagree here. Privilege is a special right, advantage or favor given to some and not others. Cis women don’t have the same struggles with pass ability as trans women and at least get their gender identity respected. Having privilege doesn’t mean u can’t be oppressed or discriminated against. A a gay male, I know I have male privilege even if I’m discriminated for being gay. Also there can be downsides AND upsides to the same thing. Some religious beliefs could give you protections or community, but also be a victim of religious discrimination. I understand not every privilege needs to be pointed out, and can be a little insensitive when the group being called privileged is also heavily discriminated against, but privilege doesn’t mean “better off” overall it just means u have some advantages
