parking brakes are for standard transmissions.. with regular maintenance and upkeep on the transmission it will last you a good while. it is called an emergency brake for a reason using it when you do not have a standard transmission will cause it to ware out faster and will cause you to have to replace or fix it more often than you should use common sense and spend less money not more.

I did N- E-Brake-P… but informed its. D-E-Brake then P… now everyone has input in this and never truly know what’s correct or not. I do both which ever happens that day is what it is

This is what you have to do for older cars new cars it is different because in my 2025 suv it automatically sets the parking brake

You can just set the parking brake before lifting your foot off the foot brake. As long as you set the parking brake before lifting your foot off the foot brake you won’t have that weight on the parking pawl

You don’t have to go into neutral, once stopped with your foot on the brake (while still in drive), engage the parking brake and then shift into park

I always engage the parking brake before shifting to park yet my transmission went out in my 2024 ford edge with under 100k miles on it last week.
